LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford missed Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors with a sore left foot. It’s the second straight game Crawford has been out with the injury, after sitting for Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Crawford injured his foot in the Clippers' loss Tuesday to the Denver Nuggets and played through it in Wednesday night's loss to the Warriors because the Clippers were missing Caron Butler, who wasn't with the team for personal reasons.
Crawford’s absence will give him a total of a week’s recuperation before the Clippers' next game, on Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks.
Billups has played in only three games this season and is out with peroneal tendinitis in his left foot. Hill hasn't played this season with bone bruises in his right knee.
“They haven’t played so they’re going to be rusty no matter when they come back because they’re not going to get a lot of practice time,” Del Negro said of Hill and Billups. “But next week maybe Grant gets out there a little bit and we’ll see where he’s at. I don’t expect Chauncey back practicing next week.”
Del Negro said that because of all the Clippers’ injuries, he hasn’t had a full practice with the team in nearly a month.
“We haven’t practiced since Dec. 12,” he said. “We don’t have enough bodies now. We haven’t practiced since Charlotte. I actually looked at that the other day. I mean a real practice, not shootarounds and walk-throughs.”
