Dodgers bring up Peter Moylan

The Los Angeles Dodgers brought up reliever Peter Moylan from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday and optioned Javy Guerra back to the minors.

According to MLB.com, Moylan had an out in his clause that he could have exercised Friday if he was not on the Dodgers' 25-man roster. Moylan, 34, was 20-9 with a 2.59 ERA in 295 games for the Atlanta Braves, but he was limited to eight games last season and is coming off shoulder surgery. The Dodgers signed him to a minor-league deal before spring training.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred reliever Scott Elbert to the 60-day disabled list.

Moylan was 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA with Albuquerque.

The Dodgers allowed another veteran reliever to get away this spring and Kevin Gregg has a 0.63 ERA and six saves for the Chicago Cubs.
