SAN DIEGO – Hanley Ramirez isn’t doing a lot of talking about on-going contract negotiations with the Dodgers. And his silence doesn’t just extend to the news media, but even to his agent, Adam Katz. Or, so Ramirez told Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.
“I told my agent I don’t want to know anything, not to call me,” Ramirez told Rojas in a Spanish-language interview. He goes on to say he wants to hear from his agent only when it’s time to report for a physical exam, meaning terms of the contract have been agreed on.
Rojas also reports that the talks will continue during the season.
“Sincerely, I don’t know what’s going to happen or what’s happening,” Ramirez said. “I want to keep my mind on the game and these are distractions that I don’t want to have. I’m a key piece to help this team daily.”
He went on to say, “The Dodgers have an amazing team and an amazing organization and for me, it’s been a blessing to be here.”
