Kings/Ducks: Playoff schedule announced


The Kings will open the Stanley Cup playoffs Thursday in San Jose, the day after the Ducks host Nashville, the NHL announced tonight.

The Kings, which finished seventh in the Western Conference standings, will play Game 2 of the best-of-seven series in San Jose on Saturday night. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Games 3 and 4 will be played on Tuesday and Thursday at Staples Center. Those games are set to begin at 7:30.

The Ducks finished fourth in the West and earned home ice for the first round. Following the opener Wednesday, the Ducks will play Game 2 on Friday at Honda Center, also at 7:30 p.m. The Ducks then travel to Nashville for Games 3 and 4 on Sunday and Wednesday.
