Stanley Cup to visit Hermosa Beach
By Jim Barrero
For the first time since last week's parade and rally, Los Angeles Kings fans will get their next official chance to see the Stanley Cup when the city of Hermosa Beach holds its own public rally to honor the Stanley Cup champions.
The ceremony will take place Monday at 11 a.m. when the Cup will be driven down Pier Avenue by the Hermosa Beach Fire Department where it will be part of a public rally in Pier Plaza beginning at approximately 11:15 a.m.
Kings center Jarret Stoll will be on hand to receive congratulations from the Hermosa Beach City Council and Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce, both of which will make presentations.
During the ceremony, the Stanley Cup will be on display on stage and fans are encouraged to bring cameras for a photo opportunity. However, individual photos with the Cup will not be available at this event.
After the ceremony, the Cup will then be driven north from the Hermosa Beach Pier on the strand to the Hermosa Beach-Manhattan Beach border. Fans again will be able to take photos of the Stanley Cup as it travels up the strand in Hermosa Beach.
Hermosa Beach, and many of the surrounding beach communities, serve as home to many of the Kings players during the regular season.
