The Los Angeles Kings released their 48-game 2013 schedule, and as expected they will open at home against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, Jan. 19, in a nationally televised noon PT start that will feature the team raising its first Stanley Cup banner.
But after that the defending champions will be road warriors during the early portion of the schedule. The Kings will play 11 of their first 15 games on the road. On the flip side, the Kings have a stretch from Feb. 23 to March 23 where they play 13 of 16 games at Staples Center. The Kings will not play more than five games in a row at home or on the road at any time.
All 48 regular-season games will be played within the Western Conference with the Kings playing Pacific Division opponents either four or five times each. They will play all other conference opponents three times apiece.
