On the first day NBA teams were allowed to welcome back players to their training facilities in El Segundo, the Los Angeles Lakers' headquarters was virtually silent.
Lakers spokesman John Black said Devin Ebanks and rookie Darius Morris participated in voluntary workouts in the afternoon while Metta World Peace showed up in the afternoon as well but did not participate in workouts. The practice facility was closed to the media.
Steve Blake did not show up to the Lakers practice facility but did workout in the Portland Trailblazers facility today.
Teams were able to host "voluntary player workouts" and physicals beginning Thursday for players under contract, unsigned rookies and free agents, and it is unclear how many will before training camps open Dec. 9.
When a Lakers spokesperson was asked if any players were expected to come in on Friday or over the weekend he said, "Call us in the morning."
Players were allowed to use team facilities on Thursday for the first time since the owners locked them out on July 1.
