X-Rays on Bazemore’s foot taken at the arena were negative, however the Lakers are classifying the injury as a right foot sprain and Bazemore will undergo an MRI on Monday.
Bazemore fell to the floor with 10:03 remaining in the second quarter. It was a non-contact injury. Following a timeout, Bazemore had to be helped off the floor by teammates Robert Sacre and Jodie Meeks and made his way to the locker room with Lakers trainer Gary Vitti.
Acquired at the trade deadline from Golden State for Steve Blake, Bazemore has averaged 13.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 22 games with the Lakers. He had two points and four assists in 12 minutes on Sunday, filling in at backup point guard.
With Bazemore’s injury, the Lakers were down to just eight healthy players the rest of the way against the Clippers as Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash, Chris Kaman, Jordan Farmar and Xavier Henry all did not dress for the game.
LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Kent Bazemore exited the first half of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers with a right foot injury and will not return.
