Lakers Late Night Replay - Game 4 vs. Denver
By the Kamenetzky Brothers
Big win for the Lakers, who clamped down on Denver in the second half, receiving key contributions from non-Big Three sources down the stretch.
They now lead the series 3-1, heading into Tuesday's Game 5 at Staples Center.
On tonight's edition of Lakers Late Night, we hit all the high points, including...
Excellent poise shown by the Lakers through a very strangely officiated game. After a loose first half defensively, L.A. closed off the boards (Denver had nine ORB's in the first two quarters, but only four in the final pair), kept Denver off the line, and limited transition opportunities. In the end, Denver scored only 37 points in the second half.
A huge, and badly needed, finish for Steve Blake, who had eight fourth quarter points, including the 3-pointer icing the game with 18 seconds to play. Jordan Hill was also impressive, grabbing seven offensive rebounds (11 overall) and scoring 12 points. His solid work off the bench allowed Mike Brown to get extra rest for Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol, helping those guys be more effective in the final minutes.
A bounce back game for Bynum.
The importance of closing things out Tuesday night in Game 5.
