ESPNLA's Arash Markazi has the story, here.
In short, John Ireland, who has been the sideline reporter on KCAL broadcasts since 2002 will anchor the radio broadcasts beside Mychal Thompson on 710 ESPN, while on television Bill Macdonald replaces Joel Meyers on play-by-play, working with Stu Lantz on KCAL and FSW.
With the exception of Lantz, whom I respect a great deal professionally but don't really know personally, these are people I like as individuals and, particularly in the case of Thompson and Ireland (colleagues at 710 Radio) enjoy working with. I'm happy for all involved. That said, like a lot of Lakers fans, I'll miss Spero Dedes, reportedly headed to New York where he'll do television play-by-play for the Knicks. A New Jersey native who broke in with WFAN Radio, the move represents a homecoming, and Knicks fans (like my in-laws!) are lucky to have him.
For what it's worth, I consider Dedes as good as any broadcaster working in basketball, and in a perfect world someone who could have joined this city's list of iconic voices who become a fundamental part of his team's fabric. Best of luck to him.
