The Los Angeles Lakers waived Ronnie Aguilar and Reeves Nelson on Saturday, trimming their training camp roster to 18.

Aguilar, who prepped at nearby Marshall High and played collegiately at Colorado State University and California State Dominguez Hills, averaged 0.8 points and 0.5 rebounds in 7.8 minutes a game over four preseason games with the Lakers.

Nelson, a forward from UCLA, averaged 1.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists in three preseason games with the Lakers.

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Lakers signed center Ronnie Aguilar, the team announced Thursday.

Aguilar, a 7-foot-1, 250-pound center, played two seasons at Colorado State University before transferring to California State Dominguez Hills. Aguilar also is a graduate of Marshall High in Los Angeles.

Most recently, Aguilar, 25, played in six games for the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League during the 2011-12 season, averaging 2.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in 11.5 minutes.

Aguilar will give the Lakers 19 players heading into the start of training camp next week. Aguilar, along with Reeves Nelson and Greg Somogyi, are expected to be long shots to make the team.
