St. John Bosco squeaks by JSerra

St. John Bosco started its Trinity League season with a narrow 74-73 victory over visiting JSerra on Wednesday night behind sophomore Daniel Hamilton's game-high 25 points.

First-year coach Derrick Taylor, formerly at Taft, has the Braves at 10-2 and in position to challenge league favorites Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran. Taylor has impressive wins against Gahr, Bishop Montgomery and Windward under his belt.

The Braves host Dominguez on Friday before jumping back into league play. They get their first shot at Orange Lutheran and Mater Dei on Jan. 18 and Jan. 27, respectively.
