The Southern Section released its baseball playoff brackets Monday and defending champion J.W. North was seeded third in Division 1.

The Huskies will host the winner of the wild-card game between Edison and Chaparral in Friday's first round. They finished 24-5 in the regular season, including 12-2 in Big VIII League play to earn their second consecutive championship.

Wild-card games in all seven divisions are scheduled to begin Tuesday, with first-round games in even-numbered divisions beginning Friday, and odd-numbered on Thursday.

Orange Lutheran was seeded No. 1 in Division 1 and Trinity Division rival Mater Dei was No. 2.

Orange Lutheran will meet the winner of M.L. King and Vista Murrieta in the second round. M.L. King finished runner-up in the Big VIII League, handing J.W. North one of its two losses. Vista Murrieta finished second to Temecula Valley in the Southwestern League.

Palm Desert, which reached the Division 4 championship game last season, is top seeded in that division.

Elsinore is seeded fourth in Division 3.

The brackets for each division can be found here.
