Mater Dei's Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis said her coach told her team to not underestimate any opponent. Her team took that piece of advice to heart against Woodbridge in the championship game of the Southern Section Division 2A girls basketball playoffs.
Mater Dei left little doubt it was underestimating Woodbridge in a 42-point blowout. Mosqueda-Lewis scored 22 points and had seven rebounds.
The fourth quarter of the game was played with a running clock. Mater Dei shot 52.7 percent from the field in the game, making 29 of 55 shots. Mosqueda-Lewis shot 56 percent, making 10 of 18 shots.
