The Marmonte League has, without question, the best teams in the LA North area. Oaks Christian won the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division championship and until someone beats the Lions, they will be atop the LA North rankings.

St. Bonaventure might be a slight favorite to win the Marmonte League. The Seraphs have to beat Westlake or Oaks Christian before they can be considered for the No. 1 spot.

Alemany might be the best team in the LA North region. The Warriors play in the tough Serra League and in the Pac-5 Division, the top division in the Southern Section, when playoffs start.

Chaminade might have the toughest schedule. The Eagles matched St. Bonaventure touchdown for touchdown in a scrimmage on Wednesday night. Chaminade looks as if it's for real.

Canoga Park is not the best City Section team in the San Fernando Valley, but Randy Uzoma, perhaps the fastest football player in the Valley, makes them intriguing. It will be interesting to see if Uzoma can carry the team or if opponents will key on him and shut down the rest of the team.

Here’s a look at the LA North top 10 and how the teams fared last season. The team’s 2010 records are in parantheses:

  3. Alemany (12-1): Lost to Servite, 28-21, in the CIF Southern Section Pac 5 Division semifinals.
  4. Crespi (8-4): Lost to Servite, 40-16, in the CIF Southern Section Pac 5 Division quarterfinals.
