Brea Olinda coach Jeff Sink was called for a technical foul late in the Wildcats' 51-46 loss to Mater Dei in Saturday's Division-II SoCal Regional finals, but he calmed down quite a bit by the time he spoke to reporters after the game. Here's some of what Sink had to say:



Mater Dei coach Kevin Kiernan stressed how much he has seen his team grow over the course of the season. In January, the Monarchs fell to Brea. For much of Saturday's game, it looked as if a similar outcome was in store. But a 13-5 fourth-quarter margin in favor of Mater Dei gave the Monarchs the victory. Kiernan said it wasn't his team's best performance:
