Alemany wins Modesto tourney

The Alemany boys basketball team won the Modesto Christian Tournament. Grant won the Hart tournament. Thousand Oaks won their division at the MaxPreps tournament in Cathedral City.
Oaks Christian and Royal of Simi Valley didn’t fare so well in the championship games of their tournaments.
Here’s a look at some of the tournament championship games involving L.A. North region teams:
Alemany 77, Bakersfield 67: Marqueze Coleman scored 36 points and had 15 rebounds in the championship game of the Modesto Christian tournament. Coleman was the tournament MVP. Max Guercy scored 19 points and was selected to the all-tournament team.
Grant 81, Hart 63: Gor Plavchyan scored 29 points and was 9-for-10 from the free-throw line in the championship game of the Hart Holiday Classic tournament. Hart’s Myles Franklin matched Plavchyan with 29 points and was 11-for-15 from the field.
Thousand Oaks 42, Torrance 40: Eric Greene scored 14 points in the championship game of the American Division of the MaxPreps tournament in Cathedral City. Tanner Lovejoy had 12 points for Thousand Oaks.
Etiwanda 60, Oaks Christian 28: Jordan McLaughlin scored 24 points and hit five 3-pointers and won the Oaks Christian tournament for the second year in a row. Oaks Christian was 1-for-22 from the field in the second half and was 5-for-46 in the game.
Hoover of San Diego 66, Royal 61: J.R. Powell scored 20 points and made six 3-pointers for Royal in the championship game of the Clovis Elks Tournament in Fresno. Scott Woods and Nick Creber were selected to the all-tournament team.
Crespi 69, Price 64: London Perrantes scored 26 points in the third-place game of the Redondo Sea Hawk Beach Classic.
