Inland Empire: Athletes of the week

Intercepted three passes in a 50-0 victory Friday night against Riverside Patriot, including one that he returned 80 yards for a touchdown. Deayon now has six interceptions on the season, which is tied for seventh best in the Southern Section. Deayon also caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown against Patriot.
Xochitl Navarrete, Ontario Colony, Jr. Won the Mt. Baldy League Cluster Meet No. 2 on Thursday at Bonelli Park in San Dimas, cruising through the three-mile course in 19 minutes 10 seconds. She also won the San Gabriel Valley One-on-One Challenge at Mt. San Antonio College on Oct. 8, finishing the 5,000-meter race in 17:35. She was fourth last month in the girls’ rated race at Woodbridge Invitational (17:27), and fifth last spring in the 1,600 meters at the Southern Section Division II track and field finals (5:01.09).
