LA South: Athletes of the Week
By Blair Angulo
Askia Booker, L.A. Price, Sr. Don't blame Los Angeles Price's two-point loss to Mater Dei on Booker, the Colorado-bound guard who scored a team-high 22 points and kept the Knights in it against the Nike Extravaganza hosts. Booker added five assists; his 12 first-half points helped Price erase an early 16-point deficit.
April Juarez, Bishop Amat, Jr. The striker has 38 goals in 22 games for the Bishop Amat girls' soccer team (21-1), seven of those coming last week alone. Juarez, who also has 17 assists, has scored in all but five of the Lancers' games. She scored five times Tuesday in a 9-0 win against St. Monica, then scored twice against Bishop Montgomery. Juarez had a season-high 13 points Tuesday. Amat is the top-ranked team in the CIF-SS Division III poll.
