LA North and LA South: City Section girls' basketball playoffs

The Chatsworth girls basketball team earned the No. 5 seed in the CIF City Section Division 1 playoffs and will play Gardena in the first round on Friday night.

Narbonne earned the top seed in the Division 1 playoffs and will play Los Angeles in the first round. Carson is the second seed and will play Westchester in the opening round.

Chatsworth (16-10) won the City Section championship in 2009 and will be looking to make its second final appearance in the past three seasons.

El Camino Real is the third seed in the Division 2 playoffs and will play Belmont in the first round. El Camino Real (14-11) won the Division 2 championship last year.

Palisades is the No. 1 seed in the Division 2 playoffs. L.A. Jordan is No. 2.

Monroe earned the No. 1 seed in the Division 3 playoffs. Monroe (19-8) advanced to the championship game of the Division 3 playoffs and lost to Birmingham in last year’s playoffs. The East Valley League champs will play Santee in the first round.

Reseda (16-7) is the second seed in the Division 3 playoffs and will play Arleta in the first round.

View Park Prep is the top seed in the small schools playoffs and will play Foshay in the first round.
