Orange County: Athletes of the week

Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Mater Dei, Sr. Two weeks ago, Lewis was named the national player of the year by Gatorade. Last week she was selected the Naismith National Player of the Year. On Saturday, she scored 33 points and sparked a comeback from a 16-4 deficit to lead her team to a second consecutive state title, 59-47, over Berkeley to lock up the national No. 1 ranking in girls' basketball.

In a dual meet featuring two of Orange County's best teams, Wong won the 200 freestyle (1 minute 43.14 seconds) and 100 butterfly (51.12) to lead Uni to a 94-76 victory over rival Irvine in the Pacific Coast League. Both marks were the county's best thus far.
