Katy Crouse, Santa Margarita, Jr.
The outside hitter had 16 kills in a Trinity League upset of Orange Lutheran during the week, and she delivered a tournament MVP performance in the Aloha Cougar Classic at Capistrano Valley over the weekend that culminated with a victory over longtime San Diego power Poway. The Eagles (10-6) began the week 3-6 before Crouse sparked the turnaround.
Garrett Danner, El Toro, Jr.
The Chargers goalkeeper was named the tournament most valuable player as the 2009 Southern Section Division I champion dominated the Villa Park Classic. Danner made 19 saves in the final, including a penalty shot, with two assists and five steals in a 17-6 victory over Royal, which went 0 for 5 on power play opportunities. El Toro outscored its five opponents, 77-23.
