Since the seven active teams emerged with victories last week, there are no changes in our south Los Angeles County top 10 rankings heading into Week 6. (Note: Last week's rankings are in parentheses.)

1. (1) Long Beach Poly (5-1)
Poly was ecstatic after reclaiming the Moore League last season. A strong senior class doesn't want to go out with a loss to their biggest rivals. Last week: Beat Long Beach Jordan, 67-6. Next: vs. Lakewood at Veterans Stadium, Friday.

2. (2) Bishop Amat (5-1)
Thirty-eight powerful carries for senior Jalen Moore meant a methodical approach for the Lancers' offense. The tailback now has 12 touchdowns and well over 800 yards in the last four games. Last week: Beat Venice, 38-35. Next: vs. Alemany, Friday.

3. (3) Loyola (5-1)
The Cubs responded well after a demoralizing road loss a week earlier. They now look to erase last year's 0-4 league record. Last week: Beat Valencia, 28-10. Next: vs. S.O. Notre Dame at L.A. Valley College, Oct. 21.

4. (4) St. John Bosco (4-1)
Among Trinity League quarterbacks, Rene Medina has at least a share of the lead in a few passing categories, including yards (1,179) and touchdowns (nine). There's room for improvement in the accuracy department. Last week: Idle. Next: vs. JSerra at Saddleback College, Friday.

5. (5) Lakewood (5-1)
Backup tailback Keith Franklin stepped up with Kendall Rogers out, rushing for 77 yards and two touchdowns in nine carries. Now, the Lancers brace themselves for the big one. Last week: Beat Compton, 54-0. Next: vs. Long Beach Poly at Veterans Stadium, Friday.
