WOODLAND HILLS -- Marcus LoVett Jr. won the battle of the freshmen in the War on the Floor game between Providence of Burbank and Campbell Hall at Taft High School on Saturday night.
LoVett scored 45 points, 21 in the fourth quarter, and led his team to a come-from-behind, 73-66, win over Campbell Hall.
Aaron Holiday, Campbell Hall’s high-scoring freshman, had 27 points and paced his team to a six-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but Providence mounted a huge comeback.
Providence (17-4) outscored Campbell Hall, 28-15, in the final period. LoVett scored 21 of his 45 points in the fourth quarter.
He was 10-for-12 from the free-throw line in the fourth and made 14-of-17 free throws in the game.
Patrick Gonzalez scored 11 points for Providence and was the only other player in double figures.
Cole Huff had 21 points and 14 rebounds for Campbell Hall (7-14). Teammate Kyle Vane had 13 points.
