Loyola, the reigning CIF Southern Section Division I boys' volleyball champion, will open this year’s playoffs as the No. 3 seed.
The playoff brackets were released Sunday with wild-card rounds scheduled to begin Monday.

Mira Costa, which lost to Loyola in four games in last year’s Division I championship match, is the top seed. The champions of the Bay League will face El Dorado, the fourth-place team from the Century League, on Tuesday.
Other key first-round matchups in the first round of the Division I playoffs include Encino Crespi vs. Ventura, Westlake vs. Long Beach Wilson, Harvard-Westlake vs. No. 4 Newport Harbor, Santa Barbara vs. Palos Verdes, Thousand Oaks vs. Mission Viejo, Simi Valley Royal vs. Redondo Union and Alemany vs. Edison.
In Division II, Valencia is the third-seeded team and will play Palmdale Highland in the first round. Corona Del Mar is the top seed in Division II. Laguna Beach is No. 2.
In Division III, Burbank Burroughs is the top seed and has a bye in the first round. Camarillo is the third seed and plays Yorba Linda in the first round.
Cerritos Valley Christian is No. 2 and South Torrance is No. 4 in Division III.
Calabasas Viewpoint is the No. 3 seed in the Division V bracket and awaits the winner of the Mary Star of the Sea vs. Pilibos match in the wild-card round.
Vistamar is the top seed in Division V. Chadwick is No. 2 and Providence is No. 4.
Santa Monica is the No. 1 seed in the Division IV bracket. San Gabriel is No. 2, Brentwood No. 3 and Windward No. 4.
