The Galaxy will open its CCL campaign Aug. 16 at Home Depot Center against the victor in this preliminary-round series -- Motagua, almost certainly, after its 4-0 romp in last week's first leg.

Puebla at Atlante

Galavision, 7 p.m.

Wednesday's Apertura meeting makes it to the screen a day late. Puebla has real aspirations for something nice this season -- the playoffs would be nice -- and are hoping American winger DaMarcus Beasley, back in North America after seven years in Europe, can help make it so.

Paul Scholes' testimonial at Old Trafford features a reconstituted club that wants to be part of Major League Soccer and, officially, has no players. The Blues make their second national-TV appearance of the season, taking on the other division's hottest club as they look to climb to the top of the National Division, a task that's growing more difficult with each week.
