GERMAN BUNDESLIGA
VfB Stuttgart at Bayern Munich
ESPN Deportes, 9 a.m.

Bayern celebrates its passage to the UEFA Champions League final with a more or less meaningless league showdown. Two games are left in the Bundesliga, Bayern is slotted in at No. 2, and fifth-place Stuttgart would need a miracle to move into Champions League territory and utter disaster to fall from a Europa League berth.

Augsburg at Borussia Mönchengladbach, ESPN Deportes, 11 a.m.
Hertha Berlin at Schalke 04, GolTV, 11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

FRENCH COUPE DE FRANCE
Lyon vs. US Quevilly
TV5Monde, 11:45 a.m.
Mighty OL last won France's top cup competition four years ago, when they also claimed the Ligue 1 title for the seventh successive season. No trophies have come since, and their title-game opposition at the Stade de France is a third-division club that has made the final just once before, in 1927. Quevillaise was a semifinalist two years ago.

Morelia at Jaguares de Chiapas
ESPN Deportes, 2:55 p.m./Azteca America (KAZA/Channel 54), 3 p.m.
The Monarcas could finish atop the Clausura table with a victory in their regular-season finale (plus a Santos loss and, likely, an America loss or tie). Jaguares have more at stake -- they're ninth, behind Cruz Azul on goal difference for the final playoff berth.

SUEÑO MLS 2012
Chivas USA Tryouts
Bell Gardens Sports Complex, 9 a.m.

Chivas USA is one of three teams involved in the television talent search, and the Goats will look at more than a thousand players during the first day of their tryouts, with the best returning for Sunday's session, which will produce five players for the national finals. Saturday's event ought to go until about 6 p.m.

NATIONAL PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE
FC Santa Clarita at FC Hasental
Rolland Stadium, California Lutheran University (Thousand Oaks), 7 p.m.
The Storm, atop the NPSL West Division's Southern Conference standings after winning last week's early showdown with the Fullerton Rangers, are the guests for Hasental's home opener.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER
FC Dallas at Galaxy
Home Depot Center (Carson), 7:30 p.m.
L.A. looks to make it three in a row against a Hoops side that's struggled largely because of injuries. In Dallas' nets will be a local boy: if not Palos Verdes' ailing Kevin Hartman, then Thousand Oaks High School alum Chris Seitz.
TV: KDOC/Channel 56 (English) and KWHY/Channel 22 (Spanish, 8 p.m.).

  • ON LOCAL FIELDS

SUEÑO MLS 2012
Chivas USA Tryouts
Bell Gardens Sports Complex, 10 a.m.

The final day of Chivas USA's tryouts for the television talent search will whittle the field to six finalists -- five field players and a goalkeeper.

NATIONAL PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE
San Diego Flash at Fullerton Rangers
Santa Ana Stadium, 5:30 p.m.
The Rangers, when they were the Santa Ana Winds, last year built a decent rivalry with the Flash, who outpointed the Orange County club for the Southern Flight title in the fourth-division NPSL.

USL PREMIER DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE
Fresno Fuego at L.A. Misioneros
Carver Middle School (Los Angeles), 6 p.m.
The Fuego, who won the PDL's Southwest Division last year, buried the Misioneros last weekend to kick off the league's 2012 season, but the L.A. team didn't have all its stars. It'll look to even things in week two, and the rest of the national semipro/amateur league will join in next weekend.
