MONDAY, MAY 7

  • TELEVISION

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
Wigan Athletic at Blackburn
ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, 11:55 a.m.

Wigan beat Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United in the past month to climb out of the relegation zone, and although it's not yet safe, it's close. Blackburn needs a quick run of its own to keep from falling to the second-tier Championship.

FRENCH LIGUE 1
Montpellier at Stade Rennes
Fox Soccer Channel, noon
Three games left in the season. Montpellier has a three-point lead on Paris Saint-Germain in the title race. Rennes is two points out of a Europa League berth. Replay: 5 p.m.

TUESDAY, MAY 8

  • TELEVISION

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
Chelsea at Liverpool
Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Deportes, noon

The Blues and the Reds just met Saturday in the F.A. Cup final -- Chelsea claiming its fourth title in six years with a 2-1 win on goals by Ramires and Didier Drogba -- and here they go again. It's meaningless for Liverpool, except as spoiler: Chelsea is chasing a diminishing chance at a Europa League slot for next season, and defeat would end their run. Replay: 5 p.m.

COPA LIBERTADORES
Cruz Azul (Mexico) at Libertad (Paraguay)
Fox Deportes, 6:30 p.m.
Javier Orozco
's goal did not stand up for the Cementeros, who settled for a 1-1 draw in last week's Mexico City home leg. They'll need a win or a high-scoring tie (2-2 or more) to ensure a quarterfinal spot in South America's club championship. Replay: 11 p.m.
Also
Atletico Nacional (Colombia) at Velez Sarsfield (Argentina), Fox Deportes, 4 p.m.
  • ON LOCAL FIELDS

Home Depot Center University Field 1, 11 a.m.

The Galaxy shakes off its first team struggles and looks for another MLS Reserve League win, with guys on the bench or not in the team for Saturday's loss to New York.
