ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
Chelsea at Liverpool
Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Deportes, noon

The Blues and the Reds just met Saturday in the F.A. Cup final -- Chelsea claiming its fourth title in six years with a 2-1 win on goals by Ramires and Didier Drogba -- and here they go again. It's meaningless for Liverpool, except as spoiler: Chelsea is chasing a diminishing chance at a Europa League slot for next season, and defeat would end their run. Replay: 5 p.m.

COPA LIBERTADORES
Cruz Azul (Mexico) at Libertad (Paraguay)
Fox Deportes, 6:30 p.m.
Javier Orozco
's goal did not stand up for the Cementeros, who settled for a 1-1 draw in last week's Mexico City leg. They'll need a win or a high-scoring tie (2-2 or more) to ensure a quarterfinal spot in South America's club championship. Replay: 11 p.m.
Also
Atletico Nacional (Colombia) at Velez Sarsfield (Argentina), Fox Deportes, 4 p.m.

  • ON LOCAL FIELDS

MLS RESERVE LEAGUE
San Jose Earthquakes at Los Angeles Galaxy
Home Depot Center University Field 1, 11 a.m.

The Galaxy shakes off its first team struggles and looks for another MLS Reserve League win, with guys on the bench or not in the team for Saturday's loss to New York.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9

  • TELEVISION

ENGLISH CHAMPIONSHIP
Blackpool at Birmingham City
Fox Soccer Plus, 11:40 a.m.
Tom Ince
's deflected shot gave Blackpool victory in its home leg. Hold on here, and they'll play West Ham United for a spot in the Premier League. Replay: 6 p.m.

UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE
Atletico Madrid (Spain) vs. Athletic Bilbao (Spain)
GolTV, 4 p.m.
Atletico could have something archrival Real Madrid doesn't this year: a European trophy. Los Colchoneros head to Romania for the title game having won 11 in a row in the competition, behind Radamel Falcao (10 goals) and Adrian Lopez (eight). Bilbao's path hasn't been so simple, but Fernando Llorente and Iker Muniain are in a hot spell. Replay: midnight.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER
Seattle Sounders at FC Dallas
MLS Direct Kick, 5:30 p.m.
Mauro Rosales
' return from injury has the Sounders humming along nicely, with three straight wins -- the last two by shutout -- and the concern over a lack of goals gone.
Also
Houston Dynamo at New York Red Bulls, MLS Direct Kick, 4 p.m.
Real Salt Lake at Chicago Fire, MLS Direct Kick, 5:30 p.m.

MEXICAN PRIMERA DIVISION
Monterrey at America
Univision Deportes, 6:30 p.m.
The Rayados are seeking their third title in seven seasons. America last won seven years ago. Winner of this home-and-home series, which wraps up Saturday, heads to the Clausura final.
Liga de Ascenso
Leon at UAT Correcaminos, GolTV, 6 p.m.
Copa Libertadores
Boca Juniors (Argentina) at Union Espaņola (Chile), Fox Deportes, 3:30 and 11 p.m.
