Real So Cal claimed third place Saturday at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy finals. Star midfielder Moises Orozco celebrated by signing his first contract.

The Oxnard product, whose play running the Agoura Hills-based club's top team's attack led to a spot in the U.S. under-20 national team pool, signed with agent Mike Gartlan after Real So Cal beat CASL Chelsea FC Academy, 3-2, in the U17/18 division's consolation game at Home Depot Center.

“We're going to find his best option,” said Gartlan, a former goalkeeper who is an agent with James Grant Sports Management, which has clients playing in leagues all over the world. There is interest in Orozco in Major League Soccer and from Mexican clubs.

Gartlan, Orozco and Orozco's father, also named Moises, could be seen going through the contract on the edge of one of HDC's fields as the U17/18 title game was played on an adjacent field.

Samuel Ball scored two goals and Edwin Rivas also tallied for Real So Cal, which stormed to a three-goal lead, then held on to beat CASL, which is based in Raleigh, N.C.

Vardar, from Pontiac, Mich., won the U17/18 title with a 3-1 victory over Crossfire Premier of Redmond, Wash. Derek Schrauben scored goals in the 74th and 77th minutes to lift Vardar, which finished ahead of Real So Cal on goal difference in group play to claim its berth in the final.

Chicago Fire Academy won the U15/16 championship Friday night, beating Cal Odyssey of Clovis, Calif., on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
