Placentia's Jenni Branam, who departed defending Women's Professional Soccer champion Sky Blue FC's game Saturday because of a knee injury, received good news Tuesday: It's not serious, and she could be back on the field for Sunday's game in Atlanta.

The veteran goalkeeper, who starred at El Dorado High School before going on to the University of North Carolina and the U.S. women's national team pool, aggravated the knee injury she sustained in preseason with New Jersey-based Sky Blue, which had sidelined her until the beginning of August.

A team official said Branam would not be available for Wednesday night's game against first-place FC Gold Pride at Rutgers University, but confirmed she was considered day-to-day following the game.

Sky Blue is fifth in the seven-team league, three points behind fourth-place Washington, with two weeks remaining in the regular season. The top four teams go to the playoffs.
