UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Ten of the 16 “MatchDay 2” games are on the Fox channels, showing at one time or another on all three -- with two games getting the nod on FSN West, with Olympique Marseille-Chelsea coming in live. CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: The fifth of the six group-stage rounds is where you start learning who is going through to next spring’s knockout phase -- and who isn’t. Some of that is obvious already: Monterrey, trust us, is going through, and the other Mexicans, too; two of the four MLS clubs are in real good shape. Seattle looks finished at 0-4 … but perhaps not. All eight of this week’s encounters are on the tube, although you’d need a DVR (or old-fashioned VHS) to see them all. Might we suggest the Toronto FC-RSL and Saprissa-Monterrey showdowns Tuesday night?
Tuesday
Real Salt Lake at Toronto FC. TV: Fox Soccer Channel, 5 p.m.
Arabe Unido (Panama) at Cruz Azul (Mexico). TV: TeleFutura (KFTR/Channel 46), 5 p.m.
Monterrey (Mexico) at Saprissa (Costa Rica). TV: Galavision, 7 p.m.

Joe Public FC (Trinidad & Tobago) at Santos FC (Mexico). TV: Galavision, 7 p.m.
Columbus Crew at Municipal (Guatemala). TV: Fox Soccer Channel, delayed, 1 a.m.
Thursday
Olimpia (Honduras) at FAS (El Salvador). TV: Galavision, 7 p.m.

COPA SUDAMERICANA: After nearly two months of prelims, South America's No. 2 club competition gets going in earnest, with the first legs in the round of 16.
Tuesday
Independiente (Argentina) at Defensor Sporting (Uruguay). TV: Fox Sports en Espaņol, 5 p.m.
Thursday
Deportivo Tolima (Colombia) at Banfield (Argentina). TV: Fox Sports en Espaņol, 4 p.m. (replay, 11 p.m.)

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER: Galaxy-Chivas USA transcends the playoff race, so let’s be happy that’s the Sunday night TV game. (Key figure this time: Alan Gordon, the longtime Galaxy forward now toiling for the Goats.) But what’s with the TeleFutura? Houston at Philadelphia? What a dog of a game. It’s K.C. at N.Y. we all want to see, and we might settle for San Jose at Columbus. (Guess that’s why we buy the Direct Kick package.)
