The Mexican federation called up 11 of the players threatening to boycott the national team for El Tri’s friendly Oct. 11 in Ciudad Juarez, including captain Rafa Marquez and veteran leader Gerardo Torrado.

The players sent a note to Federacion Mexicana de Futbol general secretary Decio De Maria earlier this week demanding that national teams director Nestor De La Torre resign or be dismissed after he suspended two players and fined 11 more for holding a postgame party following Mexico’s victory Sept. 7 in a friendly against Colombia in Monterrey.

Forward Carlos Vela and midfielder Efrain Juarez, who were banished for six months, aren’t on the roster. The fined/boycott-threatening players on the roster are Marquez, Torrado, Pablo Barrera, Giovani Dos Santos, Hector Esqueda, Andres Guardado, Javier Hernandez, Hector Moreno, Guillermo Ochoa, Francisco Javier Rodriguez and Carlos Salcido.

Vela, Juarez, Marquez, Torrado, Barrera, Dos Santos, Guardado, Hernandez, Moreno, Ochoa, Rodriguez and Salcido were on Mexico’s World Cup team.

Santos midfielder Ivan Estrada received his first national team call-up. Efrain Flores, who guided El Tri in two friendlies in early September will be in charge, but the federation plans to announce a replacement for Javier Aguirre, who resigned following the World Cup, on Oct. 12. Toluca coach Jose Manuel “Chepo” de la Torre is expected to get the job.

Mexico’s roster:

Goalkeepers: Jesus Corona (Cruz Azul), Guillermo Ochoa (America)
