SPANISH LA LIGA
Real Madrid at Barcelona
ESPN, 11:55 a.m.

There are certainly rivalries that, uh, rival this one -- Rangers-Celtic, Boca-River, Red Star-Partizan -- but not in this sense: pure quality. These are two of the three biggest clubs in the world (along with Manchester United), and throw in the history of the series, all the Franco stuff and the Catalanian nationalism, etc., and there really is no rival rivalry.

ENGLISH LEAGUE CUP
Manchester United at West Ham United
Fox Soccer Plus, 11:30 a.m.
The Red Devils still have hopes to win an unprecedented “quadruple”: The English Premier League, F.A. Cup and League Cup titles, plus the UEFA Champions League. We're betting against it -- got a feeling about Real Madrid in the CL -- but don't put anything past Sir Alex Ferguson. This one's a fifth-rounder. Replay: 5 p.m.

CARIBBEAN CUP
Guadeloupe vs. Jamaica
Fox Soccer Plus, 9 p.m.
Guadeloupe might be the Caribbean's top power if it could compete in FIFA events. The archipelago in the Lesser Antilles is a CONCACAF member, but it can't join the world governing body because, officially, it is part of France. Guadeloupeans who have contributed to French success: Thierry Henry, Lilian Thuram, William Gallas and Louis Saha.
