FIFA WORLD CUP HOST SELECTION

Decision Day 2022: A Fox Soccer Report Special

Fox Soccer Channel, 6:30 a.m.

Nobody's taking the field, but there have been fewer events more important in America's soccer history than this one. FIFA's executive committee is selecting the hosts for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, and the U.S.'s bid for the 2022 tournament clearly is the strongest. That doesn't mean anything; Qatar's bid is considered the weakest, yet London oddsmaker William Hill has established it as the favorite. U.S. Soccer is pulling out all the stops: Among those making the final presentation are former President Clinton, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Galaxy captain Landon Donovan and -- this just in; a clincher? -- revered actor Morgan Freeman. 2018? Might be a tossup between England, Russia or Spain/Portugal. We're rooting for our lingual brethren in Britain. Repeat: 6 and 9 p.m.

MEXICAN PRIMERA DIVISION

TeleFutura (KFTR/Channel 46), 6 p.m.

There might be debate whether Mexico's best team made it to the Apertura final -- Cruz Azul still has its fans -- but the big stars of the fall campaign are here for the opener of the title series. Monterrey's Humberto Suazo has more support, but Santos' Christian Benitez, who has scored 16 goals, takes the Guerreros to another level.

CARIBBEAN CUP

Guyana vs. Jamaica

Fox Soccer Plus, 9 p.m.

The Reggae Boyz have already clinched a semifinal berth, and a victory here finishes off a perfect group phase.
