Pasadena's Yura Movsisyan, whose production the first half of the season for Danish club Randers drew interest from across Europe, appears to be heading to Russia.

Movsisyan, a 23-year-old striker who played at Pasadena High School and Pasadena City College, has signed a preliminary contract with FC Krasnodar, just promoted to the Russian Premier League, according to Russian media.

A transfer deal, worth about $3.4 million, according to Major League Soccer's Web site, has been agreed to and an announcement will be made once final details, including a medical exam, are attended to.

Movsisyan joined Randers from Real Salt Lake after the 2009 MLS season. He scored 14 goals in 25 appearances, all competitions, before Denmark's top-flight SAS-Ligaen went on winter break in early December.

The Danish league resumes play and the Russian Premier League begins its schedule in early March.

Krasnodar was awarded a Premier League spot this week after Moscow's FC Saturn withdrew because of financial difficulties. Movsisyan's move required the club's addition to the top league, MLS's Web site reported.

Krasnodar was founded in 2008 and has set heady goals under owner Sergey Galitsky, a shopping magnate whom Forbes has estimated to be worth $2.9 billion.

Movsisyan last year committed to Armenia's national team and has scored three goals in five international appearances.
