Chivas USA's health concerns are growing less concerning. The club acknowledged Saturday that defenders Jimmy Conrad and Michael Lahoud had cleared Major League Soccer concussion protocol and have been cleared to play.

Both were listed as doubtful, rather than out, on Friday's league injury report, although neither traveled for Saturday's game at Columbus.

Conrad, who was injured March 26 against Colorado, had struggled most of the past two months with concussion effects, and coach Robin Fraser said Friday that he doesn't believe the veteran central defender is close to a return to the field.

Lahoud, who has moved from midfield to right back, initially was hurt in a collision with teammate Nick LaBrocca on April 16 at Vancouver, cleared protocol and started in the win two weeks ago at New York. He had a relapse while heading away a sharp Rafa Marquez cross in the first half, left the game shortly afterward and began the protocol again.

Midfielder Paulo Nagamura, who tweaked a preseason calf injury in the game against Vancouver, his only appearance this season, traveled with the Goats for Saturday's game and is one of seven available players on the bench.

The Goats also revealed Saturday that midfielder Simon Elliott will not travel to Australia for New Zealand's friendly next weekend and will be available for next Saturday's game against Portland at Home Depot Center.

Elliott and defender Andy Boyens will be with New Zealand for its game Wednesday against Mexico in Denver, missing Chivas' game that night against Vancouver, and Boyens will travel on to Adelaide for the game against the Aussies.
