Espanyol, Barcelona's No. 2 club, responded to a five-game winless streak by scoring five on Rayo Vallecano and three on Racing Santander, and it sits just one point out of a Europa League berth.

The Clausura is starting to level out, with a solid first four, a solid second four, and seven others in striking distance for a playoff berth. Sixth-place Pachuca is among three clubs with just one loss in 11 games. Chiapas' Jaguares are in good form, with just one loss in their last four, and sit four points outside the postseason.

Hamburg's biggest club is trying to stave off relegation. HSV is only two points above the drop after four one-sided losses in its last five games.

The Sounders romped in their MLS opener last week as former UCLA star David Estrada netted a hat trick. Houston is 2-0 after two 1-0 victories.

CONCACAF OLYMPIC QUALIFYING
Mexico vs. Trinidad & Tobago

The Mexicans failed to claim an Olympic berth four years ago, which led to Hugo Sanchez's dismissal as national team coach. They're favored to reach London, but top Tri coach Jose Manuel de la Torre is running the team, although not in name, to be certain.
