April 13/14: What to watch, where to go

Reading at Southampton
Fox Soccer Plus, 11:40 a.m.

A Premier League preview? Sure thing, and probably title-decider in England's second division, too. Southampton (24-8-10) leads Reading (25-10-7) on goal difference, with both six points clear in the real battle -- for the two automatic promotion slots to the EPL -- with four games to go. Replay: 6 p.m.
Australian A-League
Perth Glory at Central Coast Mariners, Fox Soccer Channel, midnight

Club Tijuana at Jaguares de Chiapas
Azteca America (KAZA/Channel 54), 5:55 p.m.
The Xoloitzcuintles' primary goal this year was survival after promotion from the second-tier Liga de Ascenso, and if that wasn't certain when the second-half Clausura kicked off in January, it is now. Tijuana, with Americans Joe Corona and Edgar Benitez in the lineup, is on target for the playoffs, sitting seventh, five points clear with three games to go. Jaguares is eighth, three points behind the Xolos, and in greater need.
Puebla at Estudiantes Tecos, Univision Deportes, 6 p.m.
Copa Libertadores
Libertad (Paraguay) at Alianza Lima (Peru), Fox Deportes, 1 p.m.

Liverpool vs. Everton
Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Deportes, 4:30 a.m.

Liverpool's clubs battle at Wembley in the first semifinal in the world's oldest soccer competition. Everton has the advantage, with the Reds are down to their No. 3 goalkeeper following suspensions to Pepe Reina and Doni. Replay: FSC, 5 p.m.
English Premier League
Manchester City at Norwich City, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, 4:30 a.m.
Queens Park Rangers at West Bromwich Albion, Fox Soccer Plus, 6:55 a.m.
Blackburn at Swansea City, Fox Soccer Channel, 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Wolverhampton at Sunderland, Fox Deportes, 7 a.m.; Fox Soccer Channel, 2 p.m.

Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille
TV5Monde, 11:55 a.m./Fox Soccer Plus, noon
Lyon hasn't won a trophy since winning the French double four years ago -- that was the end of a seven-year run as Ligue 1 champ -- and it'll have to beat the defending champions in France's No. 2 club competition to win this one.
German Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund at Schalke 04, GolTV, 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Italian Serie A
Genoa at AC Milan, Fox Soccer Channel, 9 a.m. and midnight; Fox Deportes, 2 p.m.
Inter Milan at Udinese, Fox Soccer Channel, 11:30 a.m.

Barcelona at Levante
ESPN, 12:55 p.m./ESPN Deportes, 1 p.m.
Lionel Messi
has 39 league goals -- 61 in all competitions -- to pull within one of Cristiano Ronaldo's record set last year at Real Madrid. More important: Barca is four points from Real in the race. And Levante is two points outside a Champions League berth.
Valencia at Espanyol, ESPN Deportes, 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Sporting Gijon at Real Madrid, GolTV, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Chivas USA at Toronto FC
Fox Sports West and KWHY/Channel 22, 1:30 p.m.
The Goats are brimming with confidence after a huge step forward in last weekend's victory at Portland, and they hope to take advantage of TFC's misery. The Canadians have won just once in eight games this season, and not at all in MLS.
Columbus Crew at Philadelphia Union, NBC Sports Network, 12:30 p.m.
D.C. United at New England Revolution, MLS Direct Kick, 1 p.m.
Colorado Rapids at Seattle Sounders, MLS Direct Kick, 1 p.m.
San Jose Earthquakes at New York Red Bulls, MLS Direct Kick, 4 p.m.
Montreal Impact at FC Dallas, MLS Direct Kick, 5:30 p.m.
Real Salt Lake at Sporting Kansas City, MLS Direct Kick, 5:30 p.m.
Portland Timbers at Galaxy, KDOC/Channel 56 and KWHY/Channel 22, 7:30 p.m.

Santos Laguna at America
Telefutura (KFTR/Channel 46), 2:55 p.m.
Torreon's team is ahead by two points in a fierce battle for the Clausura regular-season title, with Monterrey, Tigres and Morelia in close pursuit. America is just outside that group, in fifth, but hasn't been particularly effective at Azteca.
San Luis at Gallos Blancos, Univision Deportes, 2:55 p.m.
Morelia at Pachuca, Telefutura (KFTR/Channel 46), 4:55 p.m.
Guadalajara at UANL Tigres, Univision Deportes, 4:55 p.m.
Monterrey at Atlas, Galavision, 6:30 p.m.
Pumas UNAM at Atlante, Univision Deportes, 6:55 p.m.
Liga de Ascenso
Irapuato at Correcaminos, GolTV, midnight
Argentine Primera B Nacional
Huracan at River Plate, GolTV, 2 and 8 p.m. NATIONAL PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE
Phoenix Monsoon at FC Santa Clarita Storm
Canyon High School (Canyon Country), 6 p.m.

The Storm debuted with a draw at San Diego Boca last weekend. They'll want more in their inaugural home game.

Portland Timbers at Galaxy
Home Depot Center (Carson), 7:30 p.m.
The Galaxy have never lost three in a row under Bruce Arena, and the club looking to deliver another defeat is in its own slump after conceding leads in home losses the past two weeks. A must-win encounter at a time in the season no game is must-win.
TV: KDOC/Channel 56 (English) and KWHY/Channel 22 (Spanish)

Rochester Rhinos at L.A. Blues
Titan Stadium, Cal State Fullerton, 7:30 p.m.
The Blues begin year two with a new look, a new team, a home of their own and a new attitude -- this group promises to be more resilient than last year's underachievers (and perhaps more talented, too).
