UCLA season opener moved to Aug. 30

UCLA's season-opening game at Rice has been moved to Thursday, Aug. 30, coach Jim Mora announced Thursday on his Twitter account.

The move was made by Rice to accommodate an unnamed television partner, a UCLA spokesman said, and the kickoff time of the game will be announced at a later date.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1, but will now be part of a 15-game slate on the opening day of college football.
