The first big-time challenge for UCLA's top-ranked freshman class will come Nov. 19 when the Bruins face Georgetown at the Barclay’s Center in New York as part of the Legends Classic college basketball tournament. The 5 p.m. PST game will be televised on ESPN2.

The Hoyas went 24-9 last season and advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament. They lost their top three scorers from last year’s team, but should prove to be a worthy challenge as Shabazz Muhammad and the rest of UCLA's touted freshmen participate in the first high-profile matchup of their college careers.

The Bruins are 2-0 all time against Georgetown, with the last meeting a 71-70 victory in Washington, D.C., in 2003. The teams will also be able to share their experiences in China as UCLA is headed there next month and Georgetown traveled there last summer.

The format for the Legends Classic has 12 teams playing regional games at four host schools: UCLA, Georgetown, Indiana and Georgia. Regardless of the outcomes of those regional games, the four host schools meet in New York for the championship rounds. Indiana and Georgia will face off in the other semifinal.

Should the Bruins meet Indiana in the final, it would be a matchup of teams expected to be in the top five in the nation. Andy Katz and Eamonn Brennan of ESPN.com have the initial tournament breakdown in the College Basketball Nation blog.
