OL Jeff Baca 'probably' will play Saturday

LOS ANGELES -- Offensive lineman Jeff Baca, the starting right guard for the UCLA Bruins, is expected to play when No. 19 UCLA faces Oregon State in a Pac-12 opener Saturday at the Rose Bowl, coach Jim Mora said Thursday.

Baca, a senior and leader of the offensive line, missed UCLA's 37-6 victory over Houston last week because of an undisclosed injury. He also missed time during training camp because of a concussion.

"Jeff will probably play so that'll be a good thing for us," Mora said in a rare break from his standing policy of not discussing injuries. "We're pretty healthy."

Baca is a versatile four-year starter who can play any position along the line. Brett Downey took his place as the starting right guard last week and Greg Capella also played the position some.
