LaVine is No. 51 in the ESPNU top-100 rankings and is the No. 10 point guard, though Howland said he sees LaVine as more of a shooter and scorer who would play both guard positions at UCLA. LaVine chose UCLA over Louisville, Gonzaga, Washington and Washington State.
"He is going to be a very good player," Howland said. "He can really shoot it, he's a very good athlete. I think he has a lot of upside."
