Brandon Willis, a freshman defensive tackle, completed his transfer from North Carolina and officially joined the UCLA football team Thursday, the school announced.

Willis, ranked No. 110 in the ESPNU 150 top high school recruits last season, will redshirt this season and has four years of eligibility remaining.

"We are very excited about Brandon joining our program," UCLA Coach Rick Neuheisel said in a statement. "We thought the world of him a year ago as a high school senior and we feel he will be a tremendous asset to our defensive front."

Willis, 6-3, 255, has passed admission requirements and signed a statement of intent to enroll. He left North Carolina because of family issues.
