Coach Rick Neuheisel doesn't appear to be too concerned if quarterback Kevin Prince (knee) can't go Thursday against top-ranked Oregon. Sophomore Richard Brehaut would get the nod in his place -- and that's fine with Neuheisel.

"Nothing's too big for Richard," Neuheisel said. "I'm not concerned that he'll be overwhelmed. If they overwhelm us, it will be because they overwhelm us. It won't be because Richard's not ready for that."

Brehaut threw for 128 yards on 12 of 23 passing in his first career start Oct. 2 against Washington State. He also ran for the go-ahead score in the Bruins' 42-28 win.

Some tidbits:
  • UCLA will not only play the nation's top-ranked team Thursday but will also have to deal with the notoriously loud Autzen Stadium crowd. "It's a great place to play," Neuheisel said. "I don't look at it as any more formidable than Texas or some of the other great venues we've been in. It's certainly deserving of that kind of notoriety."
  • Neuheisel stressed the importance of being able to withstand momentum shifts, something that might occur more than once against the high-powered Ducks. The Bruins trailed California 14-0 early last week and never responded. "We've got to be able to be down 14-0 and not panic," Neuheisel said. "That's what we have to be able to do."
  • Junior receiver Nelson Rosario (ankle) and sophomore cornerback Sheldon Price (knee) did not practice. Both are doubtful for Thursday's game.
