Richard Brehaut: "We can do this"

If an eternal optimist could take anything away from UCLA's 29-21 loss to Arizona, it would be the fact that sophomore Richard Brehaut set career highs in passing yards (228) and touchdowns (two) in a game.

For the first time in what seems like forever, the Bruins went vertical. In the third quarter, Brehaut hooked up with speedy receiver Randall Carroll for a 68-yard touchdown pass -- the longest UCLA pass play in more than three years.

Like I said, forever.

Brehaut wasn't done, catching Arizona's defense snoozing on a 49-yard flea-flicker to Josh Smith, another of the Bruins' speedsters.
