Former UCLA forward Drew Gordon, who reached a mutual agreement with coach Ben Howland to leave the Bruins earlier this season, has arrived at New Mexico.
Gordon provided an update on his Twitter page (mixed_boy0) Monday night: "man my knees are mad sore lol tryin to get bck into playin shape!!"
For Gordon, it's been a while.
Howland announced Gordon's departure on Dec. 1 with UCLA posting a meager 2-4 record. In those six games, Gordon averaged 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds as the team's starting center. The Bruins (7-9, 2-2 Pac-10) have gone 5-5 without him.
Gordon will have to wait even longer to play in a meaningful game. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Gordon is not eligible to play for the Lobos until next season.
