Former UCLA softball standout Megan Langenfeld was named the 2010 Sportswoman of the Year by the L.A. Sports Council on Friday.

Langenfeld, who led the Bruins to their 12th national championship, was pegged as the most outstanding player at last year's Women's College World Series after going 12-for-17 (.706) in Oklahoma City. UCLA was a 10-0 in the postseason.

“I’d like to thank the Los Angeles Sports Council for recognizing me with this honor,” Langenfeld said in a statement. “It is really nice to be in such great company as (past winners) Allyson Felix, Candace Parker, Lisa Leslie, Misty May and Kerri Walsh. Last year was a special year for UCLA softball and I’m so proud to have helped bring home the 12th national championship for our program and the 106th in school history."

The awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 24.
