Women's golf extends NCAA regional lead

The UCLA women's golf team extended it's lead at the NCAA central regional to six shots after shooting a four-player total of 13-over 301 Friday at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.

Bruins freshman Ani Gulugian shot two-over 74 to pace the Bruins and she is one shot behind Emily Tubert of Arkansas in the individual race with a two-day total of one-over 145. Glory Yang shot 75 and Tiffany Lua and Stephanie Kono each shot 76 to round out UCLA, which led by four shots after the first round.

Minnesota shot 297 Friday, the best team score of the second round, and moved into a second place tie with Louisiana State, which shot 303.

The top eight teams after Saturday's final round will advance to the NCAA championships May 18-21 at Tradition's Club in Bryan, Tex. UCLA is 20 shots clear of ninth-place Chattanooga.
