The defending national champion UCLA softball team will have to do it the hard way this year.

The Bruins did not receive a seed and were placed in the Florida Regional on Sunday night. They will play unseeded Jacksonville on Friday, while Regional host and No. 4 national seed Florida will match up against Bethune-Cookman in the double elimination format. Game times have yet to be announced.

UCLA (33-17, 9-12 Pac-10) finished tied for sixth place in the conference standings (out of eight teams). It's the first time since 2003 that the Bruins aren't hosting a regional. UCLA has advanced to three straight super regionals.

Pac-10 champion Arizona State (50-6) earned the top seed in the NCAA Tournament. Arizona (40-16), Stanford (38-15) and Washington (34-14) are the other Pac-10 hosts. California received the No. 7 national seed but will be playing at the Louisville Regional. Oregon is the No. 13 seed but will be playing at the University Park Regional.
